Severe storms and gusty winds disrupt Krasnodar Krai this weekend

A sharp clash of air masses will hit Krasnodar Krai today as cold northern winds meet subtropical warmth. The collision is set to bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty conditions across the region.

The weather disturbance begins with a collision of cold air from the north and warm currents from the south. This will trigger strong convection, forming towering cumulonimbus clouds and widespread rain.

Daytime temperatures will hover between +9 and +11°C (48–52°F), with north-easterly winds blowing steadily at 6–11 m/s. Gusts may reach higher speeds, adding to the unsettled conditions. The wet weather will persist into Saturday, with overnight lows dropping to +3 to +5°C (37–41°F). Daytime highs on Saturday will stay cool, between +8 and +10°C (46–50°F). Thunderstorms and gusty winds remain possible in some areas. Due to the adverse forecast, all outdoor entertainment in city parks has been cancelled. No public events will take place from May 1 to 3. Residents planning leisure activities are advised to check for closures before heading out. Despite the weather, indoor options remain available. Cinemas such as *Bulgaria* and *Horizont* will stay open, offering films, popcorn, and drinks for families seeking shelter from the rain.

The stormy conditions will disrupt outdoor plans, but indoor venues provide alternatives for entertainment. With rain and possible thunderstorms lasting through the weekend, residents are encouraged to adjust their schedules accordingly.
