Severe Rainfall Alert: Predicted Downpours Ranging from Heavy to Extra-Heavy to Hit Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and the North-Eastern Regions in the Coming Days

In the coming days, several regions in Northwest India are at risk of experiencing heavy rainfall and potential flooding, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The forecast, issued between July 22 and July 30, 2025, predicts isolated to very heavy rainfall in East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, with some instances of extremely heavy rainfall.

East Rajasthan, specifically, can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall from July 29 to August 2, with isolated extremely heavy falls predicted on July 29. Uttarakhand is forecast to experience isolated heavy rainfall from July 30 to August 4. Himachal Pradesh has already experienced isolated extremely heavy rainfall as of July 29 and is expected to have very heavy rainfall on July 30, with isolated heavy to very heavy showers continuing through early August. Uttar Pradesh, both West and East, is likely to see isolated heavy rainfall around July 29, July 30, and again during August 3-4.

The overall pattern suggests intense rainfall events, particularly in hill areas and adjoining plains, linked to active low-pressure systems and cyclonic circulations influencing northern and central India during this period. These conditions are likely to result in thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds accompanying the rainfall episodes.

Additional regions expected to experience heavy rainfall include Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Rajasthan, and the Konkan & Goa, Ghat areas of Maharashtra, Saurashtra & Kutch. Assam and Arunachal Pradesh are forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunder from July 29 to August 3. East Uttar Pradesh and North Gujarat are also predicted to experience heavy rainfall during this period.

Residents in these affected areas are advised to stay informed, follow any weather alerts issued by the IMD, and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this potentially hazardous weather event.

Weather-forecasting by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts intense rainfall events in several regions, such as East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and West Rajasthan. The weather forecasting also warns about potential flooding and thunderstorms in these areas due to the active low-pressure systems and cyclonic circulations.
