Barcelona Winter Series Returns for 2025-2026 Season

The Barcelona Winter Series, one of the leading events in the European winter sailing calendar, is set to return for the 2025-2026 season. The international competition of J70 one-design boats will once again take place in the vibrant city of Barcelona, hosted by the Royal Nautical Club of Barcelona.

The first series of the season kicks off on September 19, under the direction of the committee chaired by Pere Sarquella. Over 25 boats from seven countries, including Hungary, United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, France, Denmark, and Spain, have already entered the series.

Among the teams participating in the first series is HangTen-Hnos Berga, the Corinthian European vice-champions, and the HSN Sailing Team, the current Spanish Open and Corinthian European champions. The German team Bodegas Can Marlés, the European bronze medalists, will also be present.

Each day of the competition during the first series will have a maximum of four races. The format for the 2025-2026 season will be a series of monthly regattas from Friday to Sunday, with up to 12 races per event.

The fleet of the Barcelona Winter Series includes Let it Be, Bodegas Villanueva, Correa-Kessler, GRUN, Diva, Lotte, Juju, Phantom 7, Seriousfun, Noticia, Yupi, Patakin, Marnatura, Abriles Verde, and Abriles Rojo. Teams from Switzerland, Italy, and Portugal, along with new Spanish entries, are expected to join the series in the coming months.

The German, Austrian, and British teams are strongly represented in the Barcelona Winter Series. However, there are no specific search results that list the German teams participating in the Barcelona Winter Series 2021/2022. The available results do not mention this event or the German teams involved.

The second series of the Barcelona Winter Series is scheduled for early October and will coincide with the Spanish J70 Championship. The second series will also be valid for the national ranking.

The 2025-2026 season of the Barcelona Winter Series will run from September to March. The program promises maximum excitement and high-level sportsmanship, making it an event not to be missed for sailing enthusiasts. The first series of the season promises to be particularly thrilling, with some of the best teams in the world competing for top honours.
