Seven individuals suffered injuries in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, following a Russian missile strike, according to official reports.

In the early hours of August 2025, Mykolaiv, a city in southern Ukraine, was hit by a series of missile and drone attacks, resulting in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure.

According to reports, Ukraine's air force reported 76 attack drones and seven missiles launched by Russia overnight, targeting eight locations in Ukraine, including Mykolaiv. As a result, at least seven people were injured, with two men hospitalized in moderate condition. The attacks caused fires and destruction to residential buildings, with three private houses almost destroyed, 23 damaged, and 12 apartment buildings affected. Additionally, damage occurred to vehicles, a post office, and a building materials store.

The missile strike also disrupted power in parts of Mykolaiv and nearby Kherson regions. Emergency services have been actively responding with rescue and firefighting operations.

Beyond missile strikes, repeated Russian drone attacks targeted areas in the Mykolaiv region since August 2-4, damaging power lines, burning a private house in Dniprovske village, and hitting other private residences and communities without civilian casualties reported in those drone incidents. Notably, at least one major sports complex used by Ukrainian national athletes was partially damaged by a missile blast, marking further impact on civilian and cultural infrastructure.

Mykolaiv remains near active front lines and faces regular attacks that continuously affect civilian life by damaging homes, utilities, and critical infrastructure. The ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, which began with a full-scale invasion by Russia in February 2022, has been marked by both sides denying targeting civilians.

In the front-line regions of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, at least three people were killed and more than 12 injured as a result of Russia's attacks over the 24 hours into Sunday morning. However, these facts were not reported in the context of the Mykolaiv attacks mentioned earlier.

Reuters could not independently verify the report of the missile strike on Mykolaiv and the missile strike on Kyiv, which resulted in the death of nine people and over 70 injuries, according to Ukrainian officials. There was no immediate comment from Russia about the attacks on either city.
