City chief, Sergei Sobyanin, announced that air defense systems have taken down three more drones in the Moscow region, making the overall count seven over a single night.

Sobyanin shared the news on his Telegram channel, stating, "Defense Ministry air defense forces shot down three drones that targeted the Moscow region. Emergency services personnel are currently working at the crash sites."

Prior to this, four drones had met their demise over the Moscow region. Sobyanin first hinted at the chaos at 3:47 am Moscow time, followed by two more shootdowns at 4:19 and 4:30 am. The fourth drone was reportedly taken down at 5:59 am.

Reports also indicate that flight restrictions have been mandated at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports. The specifics about the precautions implemented at these airports remain unclear at this time. Typically, such measures might include increased surveillance, beefed-up security patrols, and potential coordination with air defense units to ensure the airport's safety.

These drone attacks are part of an increased escalation of long-range strikes by both Ukraine and Russia. It’s essentially an ongoing saga, with both sides engaging in long-range operations even amidst on-going peace talks.
