Seven Cuban competitors advanced to the final round of the Geographical Quiz Competition

Participants' devised questions will be incorporated into dictation choices or quizzes. Over 466 individuals from Russia, along with 13 from other countries, took part in the competition.

The Crystal Compass competition, a prestigious Russian national tourism award, is celebrating its 11th edition this year. The competition, which aims to recognise and promote achievements in the tourism industry across various regions of Russia, has once again highlighted the tourism potential of the Krasnodar region.

Finalists from several parts of the Krasnodar region have made it to the final round of the competition. Marina Belogorceva hails from Apsheeron, Polina Pergayeva from the stanitsa Pereyaslovskaya, Ekaterina Popovskaya from Ust-Labinsk, Zalina Tuaeva from Labinsk, and Lyubov Gyrnec from Krasnodar are all eager to make their mark in the competition. Additionally, Mikael Arakelov and Valeria Shchukina represent Tuapse in the final round.

The project from Kuban has also been recognised as a finalist of the Crystal Compass award, further showcasing the region's commitment to tourism development.

The competition has seen over 466 participants from Russia and 13 from foreign countries. The finalists have submitted a total of over 1,000 questions they created based on various sources such as diaries of great travelers, archival battle maps, anniversary history of the RGO, and folk legends.

One of the finalist's questions was found interesting by the jury, and one finalist shared their reason for participating in the competition: to share their love for geography. The finalist's quote about their participation and questions was reported by the press service of the Krasnodar Regional Branch of the RGO.

The Crystal Compass competition is a significant platform that encourages and rewards regional tourism development, and in relation to the Krasnodar region, it highlights its tourism potential and successful projects in this area. The competition focuses on showcasing and boosting local tourist initiatives, geographical attractions, cultural heritage, and hospitality services to enhance the region's tourism appeal within Russia and internationally.
