New Version:

Tension with Sean Meyers Ahead: Blake Lively's Coming Chat Show Talk After Offensive Pregnancy Gaffe

Famed actress Blake Lively is set to return to NBC Studios for a sit-down with chat show host Seth Meyers this Thursday, nine years after their initial encounter turned sour. This visit comes amid a whirlwind of controversy surrounding Lively's ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her co-star in the film, "It Ends With Us."

Before the legal drama, Lively's last film release met a tumultuous reception. Lively, 37, is a mother of four and is currently embroiled in a messy and highly publicized legal spat with Baldoni that started when she accused him of sexual harassment and waging a smear campaign against her in December.

Her sparring with Baldoni has also reportedly created tension with her "A Simple Favor" co-star Anna Kendrick, who appears concerned about the impact Lively's public feud might have on their film promotions.

When Lively appears on Meyers' talk show, she may be hoping for a smoother ride, as their last conversation started on a rocky note. That time, an oblivious Meyers congratulated Lively on her pregnancy before she'd even confirmed it. In an awkward moment, Lively had to clarify, "Yes, you're guessing correctly. This is not brownies - I'll let you off the hook."

Lively's impending TV interview marks a new chapter in her career, following Marvel's intervention in the legal proceedings involving Justin Baldoni, Ryan Reynolds, and the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Marvel has requested that they be removed from the proceedings and asked to quash a subpoena over the Nicepool character.

Seemingly unaware of his imminent mistake, Meyers congratulated Lively on her pregnancy back in 2016, when she was expecting her second child, yet to be publicly announced. Since then, Lively has been more discreet about her personal life, especially regarding pregnancies—an approach contrasting with her husband, Ryan Reynolds's, playful sharing of delivery-room anecdotes.

Fans suspect Ryan Reynolds's witty trolling of Justin Baldoni in Deadpool & Wolverine

Reynolds's character Nicepool in Deadpool & Wolverine, in particular, has fueled speculation. Nicepool remarked about Ladypool (played by Lively) and said, "She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too and [you] can't even tell." Deadpool responded, "I don't think you're supposed to say that," to which Nicepool added, "That's okay I identify as a feminist."

These comments seem to reference Baldoni's past claims of being a feminist. Lively had given birth to her fourth child shortly before filming "It Ends With Us," for which Baldoni both starred and directed. In her lawsuit, Lively claimed that Baldoni had criticized her body and weight.

On Monday, Baldoni's legal team responded to Marvel's recent request regarding the Nicepool character. Baldoni's lawyers asserted that Marvel failed to engage in good-faith discussions regarding the objections to the Subpoena. Tensions appear to run high as both sides dig in their heels, with Lively slowly easing her way back into the spotlight, having recently attended the Time100 Gala in New York City.

  • In 2025, Blake Lively might initiate a new phase in her entertainment career with the supposed interview on Seth Meyers' talk show, Movies-and-TV, after a strained past conversation.
  • The upcoming interview comes amidst ongoing legal battles with Justin Baldoni, creator of the movie "It Ends With Us," which has also reportedly strained her relationship with actress Anna Kendrick.
  • The entertainment industry will surely be eager to see how Lively manages her celebrities-filled personal life, particularly in contrast to her husband, Ryan Reynolds, known for his playful sharing of private details.
  • The upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movies, in which both Lively and Baldoni have roles, might draw renewed attention due to fans' speculation about Ryan Reynolds's potential trolling of Justin Baldoni through the Nicepool character.
