Serpentine-10 Pedestrian Fountain Reopens May 9 After Winter Break
Preparations are underway for the seasonal reopening of the Serpentine-10 pedestrian fountain in Sovetskaya Gavan. The popular attraction, first launched in 2020, is set to welcome visitors again on May 9—just as warmer weather arrives.
The 11x11-metre fountain will undergo technical checks before its launch. Contractor TRIO-GRAUPP LLC, working under a new agreement, will inspect pumps, control systems, and electronics. They will also adjust water flow, fine-tune jet heights, and configure the fountain's evening lighting.
Weather conditions could still affect the opening date. Meanwhile, local authorities have urged residents to avoid throwing trash or stones into the basins. Such actions can damage the structure and result in expensive repairs. Since its debut in 2020, the fountain has become a favoured summer spot. However, no public data exists on visitor numbers during peak months.
The fountain's return will bring back its colourful evening lighting and water displays. Residents are encouraged to enjoy the attraction responsibly to prevent damage. The launch date remains May 9, unless weather delays occur.
