Serengeti Park's 'Gozimba' Roller Coaster Delayed by Construction Error
Serengeti Park's eagerly awaited roller coaster, 'Gozimba', has hit a snag. The opening is now delayed by several months due to a construction error. Park CEO Fabrizio Sepe is understandably affected by the incident and the delay.
The roller coaster's construction faults involve unclear responsibility. RES RIDES AG from Switzerland developed the concept and acted as a technical partner but denies being the manufacturer. The park operator suspects issues with the metal fabricator, who denies fault, claiming adherence to plans. No single company is confirmed solely responsible for the design flaws.
The delay has cost Serengeti Park dearly. Sepe has spent an additional 300,000 euros on new ride vehicles. The park will start the 2026 season without 'Gozimba', a significant setback for its marketing and operations. During a TÜV inspection, side guide wheels of the ride vehicles began to come loose after several rides, leading to the discovery of the construction error.
The manufacturer of the roller coaster is currently at a trade fair in Barcelona, and Sepe hopes for clarification afterwards. The delay of 'Gozimba' is a blow to Serengeti Park's plans, but the park remains committed to resolving the issue and ensuring the safety of its visitors.
