"September Debut for Trivia Game Show 'Know and Win'"
Let's Spill the Beans on the Redesigned "Knowledge and Win"
"Knowledge and Win," the timeless cultural battle on La 2, set to undergo a massive revamp next season while preserving its essence. Starting September, audiences will still revel in the show from Monday to Friday, with long-time host Jordi Hurtado, and will meet Rodrigo Vázquez as the new weekend host. Additionally, the weekend edition will introduce a new stage, graphics, and gameplay.
Jordi Hurtado, Rodrigo Vázquez, Urbana Gil, Anaïs Schaaff, and María Eizaguirre were all present during a recent meeting at Torrespaña. Expect these upgrades to come “naturally and as family,” according to María Eizaguirre. She also honored Jordi Hurtado for the “amazing moments” they've shared on the channel.
Urbana Gil stated, "After 11 years with the same stage, it's high time for a refresh. Starting September, you'll witness a revamped ‘Knowledge and Win’ with a fresh graphic design and a shiny, vibrant stage."
Anaïs Schaaff "can't wait for a little shake-up” and explains, "We want Rodrigo to feel right at home and have some modifications to help him settle in."
Jordi Hurtado, with a tinge of emotion, bid farewell to "the stage where so many joyous moments unfolded." He also reflected on his first program 40 years ago, which he described as a bold step that marked the inception of a great public television brand. He sees the weekend change as a slight downtime: "It's just a dip in intensity, a more laid-back weekend.” He also praised Rodrigo Vázquez, acknowledging his commendable communication skills and dominance over the contest genre.
Rodrigo Vázquez steps into this challenge with “responsibility and boundless enthusiasm for everything "Knowledge and Win” and Jordi embody, a seasoned pro in contests.”
New Stage, Graphics, and Twists
Expect a fresh stage, graphics, and a nail-biting twist in the gameplay starting September. The revamped weekend edition will heighten the tension, with a surprising move that temporarily allows the winning team to eliminate an opposing member. This is the first time teams will be forced to contend without one of their own, striving for their reinstatement.
This change allows Rodrigo Vázquez to make his mark on the classic format without ever losing the show's essence, focusing on who knows most to win.
Rodrigo Vázquez
Rodrigo Vázquez has been a beloved audience favorite since he joined the game show "The Hunter" in March 2022, a show he continues to host on La 2.
The affable Galician journalist carved out a significant portion of his career at TVG, the autonomous television of Galicia ("Here Galicia", "Oh Happy Day", "The Biggest Country in the World", "Verbenalia", "You'll See", or "Who's There?"). He's also presented "All Against One" and the second edition of Benidorm Fest on our channel.
"Knowledge and Win," created by Sergi Schaaff and now directed by Abigail Schaaf for the daily version and Anais Schaaff for the weekend version, airs daily in the afternoon on La 2. Pilar Vázquez is the co-host, and Elisenda Roca provides the contest's voiceover.
Culture and entertainment intertwine in this format, remaining one of La 2's most-watched spaces. In May, the show closed the month with an average of 616,000 viewers and a 6.8% share, marginally greater than in April. The weekend edition averaged 400,000 viewers and a 4.5% screen share last month.
"Saber y Ganar" now precedes two other gameshows: "Jeopardy," with Paco de Benito, and "El Cazador," with Rodrigo Vázquez. Together, they form a block of cultural and family entertainment that solidifies La 2's credo: "Learn while Playing."
The revamped weekend edition of "Knowledge and Win" will appeal to audiences with a new stage, graphics, and an exciting twist in the gameplay, encouraging more engagement and competition among participants.
Rodrigo Vázquez, the fresh host of the weekend edition, brings a breath of fresh air to the classic format, enhancing entertainment while preserving the essence of learning and winning.
