September 11th, 2025 Federal Alert Day
The Hochsauerlandkreis will be participating in a nationwide emergency drill on September 11, 2025. This drill, which is part of a series of nationwide exercises, will take place at the control center in Meschede-Enste.
The emergency drill aims to test technical procedures and raise awareness about warnings. The drill will consist of three one-minute periods: an all-clear, a warning, and another all-clear. The siren activation sequence will follow a steady tone for the all-clear, an ascending and descending tone for the warning, and another steady tone for the final all-clear.
A five-minute pause will be observed between the sequences to ensure clarity and understanding of the drill. Citizens will be made aware of the test alarm through channels like warning apps (NINA) and cell broadcast from mobile network providers.
Following the drill, all citizens are invited to participate in an online survey at www.warntag-umfrage.de to share their experiences and provide feedback. The responsible parties for the online survey are the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (Bundesamt für Bevölkerungsschutz und Katastrophenhilfe, BBK).
Carolin Fisch from the Hochsauerlandkreis serves as the contact person for this news article. The federal government, states, and cities will jointly test warning systems for the population during this drill.
More information on settings and compatible devices can be found at www.bbk.bund.de/cellbroadcast. The all-clear is expected to be given around 11:40 AM. The Hochsauerlandkreis encourages all its citizens to participate in this important exercise to ensure preparedness and safety for everyone.
