Seoul's San Restaurant Wins Asia's One To Watch Award 2026

A new fine-dining restaurant in Seoul has gained early recognition from one of the food industry's most prestigious lists. San, a modern Korean restaurant with French influences, opened in Gangnam in 2024. It has now been named the winner of the One To Watch Award 2026 by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.

The One To Watch Award highlights restaurants with the potential to join the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants ranking in future years. San is the first Seoul-based restaurant to receive this honour since 2017. Its tasting menu features seasonal dishes that combine classical French techniques with traditional Korean flavours.

Leading the kitchen is chef Jo Seung-Hyun, who trained under renowned chefs Thomas Keller and Corey Lee. The restaurant's innovative approach has already drawn attention from critics and diners alike. The awards ceremony for Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2026 will take place in Hong Kong on 25 March 2026. For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed live on the 50 Best YouTube channel.

San's win marks a significant moment for Seoul's fine-dining scene. The restaurant's blend of French and Korean cuisine has set it apart early in its journey. The One To Watch Award suggests it may soon rank among Asia's top culinary destinations.
