Senators' Sens Skills 2026: Dodgeball drafts, Olympic watch parties and record-breaking slapshots

The Ottawa Senators are preparing for their annual Sens Skills competition, set to occur on February 22, 2026. This year's main event will include a mix of fun and high-energy challenges, with tickets priced between $12.50 and $20. Fans will also have the chance to watch the Olympic gold medal game for free at a special event hosted by Bert's Bar inside the Canadian Tire Centre.

Drake Batherson and Thomas Chabot, the Senators' longest-serving players, took a playful approach to team selection. Instead of a traditional draft, they shot dodgeballs into bins marked with teammates' faces. Batherson's squad includes Nick Cousins, Ridly Greig, Jordan Spence, and Tyler Kleven. Meanwhile, Chabot's team features Shane Pinto, Fabian Zetterlund, Michael Amadio, and Claude Giroux.

Kleven, known for his powerful shot, holds the league's hardest recorded slapshot this season, clocking in at over 105 miles per hour. The competition promises to showcase individual talents, though the full roster of participants has yet to be announced.

Before the skills event, fans can gather at Bert's Bar for a free watch party. The venue will screen the Olympic gold medal game, where Senators players Jake Sanderson and Brady Tkachuk will compete for Team USA.

The Sens Skills competition offers an affordable night of entertainment, with tickets ranging from $12.50 to $20. The event will highlight player skills and team camaraderie, while the Olympic watch party gives supporters a chance to cheer on Sanderson and Tkachuk. Official rosters for the skills challenges will be confirmed closer to the date.
