Senators’ Powerplay Goals Now Fuel Meals for Families at Ronald McDonald House
The Ottawa Senators have teamed up with Meal Prep Ottawa for a new community initiative. The programme, called the Ottawa Senators Community Assist, will support families staying at Ronald McDonald House. A portion of meal sales will go directly to the cause whenever the team scores a powerplay goal.
The partnership involves a special Senators Menu Lineup, designed to boost performance and recovery for players and fans alike.
Meal Prep Ottawa, the city’s largest locally-owned meal delivery service, has created four exclusive meals for the programme. The lineup includes the Salmon and Quinoa Recovery Meal, the Sirloin Muscle Builder, the Chipotle Power Wrap, and the Game Day Boost pressed juice. Each option aims to enhance energy and recovery for game days.
For every powerplay goal scored by the Senators, 20% of the next day’s proceeds from the Senators Menu Lineup will be donated to Ronald McDonald House. The Ottawa Senators Community Foundation will then match the donation, effectively doubling the funds raised.
The initiative focuses on helping families in the Ottawa-Gatineau area who rely on Ronald McDonald House for support. The partnership builds on Meal Prep Ottawa’s existing community efforts, though details about the company’s founding remain unclear.
The programme will provide financial aid to families through meal sales tied to the Senators’ on-ice success. With matched donations from the team’s foundation, the impact will reach more people in need. Fans can contribute simply by purchasing meals from the special lineup after a powerplay goal.
