Senators celebrate Olympic gold as Sens Skills dazzles fans with record-breaking feats

The Ottawa Senators hosted their annual Sens Skills competition, featuring standout performances from both players and prospects. Fans also celebrated the return of Olympic gold medallists Brady Tkachuk and Jake Sanderson, whose achievements were honoured at the event.

The team's practice facility will now display their gold medals for supporters to see.

Team Batherson edged out Team Chabot with a 30-25 victory in the competition. Ridly Greig claimed the fastest skater title, while Drake Batherson set a personal record of 106.0 mph in the hardest shot challenge. Rebecca Leslie, a winger for the Ottawa Charge, won the accuracy contest in just 9.54 seconds.

Before the event, the Senators welcomed back captain Brady Tkachuk and defenceman Jake Sanderson, both fresh from Olympic gold medal wins. Their medals will be showcased at the team's practice facility. Meanwhile, Finnish bronze medallist Nikolas Matinpalo is set to join the Senators this week.

Lars Eller and Tim Stützle, who also competed at the Olympics, returned in time to support their teammates from the bench. Notably, no Senators players represented Team USA or Team Canada in Milano, despite NHL participation in the Games.

The Sens Skills competition highlighted both individual talent and team success. With new additions like Matinpalo and returning Olympians, the Senators now shift focus to the rest of the season. More details can be found on the team's official website, http://www.ottawasenators.com.
