Sena Party (UBT) Calls for Minister's Removal due to Bar Dispute
In a recent turn of events, the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) [UBT] has leveled serious allegations against Maharashtra Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, and his family. The controversy revolves around the operation of a bar named Savali (or Sawali) Bar, located in Kandivali, Maharashtra.
The bar, which is licensed under Yogesh Kadam’s mother, Jyoti Ramdas Kadam, has been accused of illegally operating as a dance bar, disguised as a legitimate restaurant-bar. A police raid in May 2025 reportedly led to the detainment of 22 bar girls, other staff, and customers, exposing allegations of obscene acts and illegal dance bar operations [1][3][4].
Anil Parab, a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, has demanded Yogesh Kadam’s resignation and claimed to have submitted evidence of this illegal activity to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Despite these allegations, the chief minister reportedly expressed displeasure over the controversy but gave Yogesh Kadam a clean chit, while Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde supported Kadam [1][3].
Following the controversy, Yogesh Kadam’s family surrendered the bar’s licence, a move criticized by Parab as an admission of guilt since the licence was surrendered only after the misconduct was exposed. Kadam’s family claimed the bar was leased to another operator and denied involvement in illegal activities [1][2].
However, Parab asserted that returning "stolen goods" does not absolve one of the crime. He also claimed that the bar was being run by someone else, despite it being in Yogesh Kadam's mother's name [1].
Ramdas Kadam, Yogesh’s father, alleged a conspiracy to defame his son and blamed police officials for targeting Yogesh because he resisted pressure to overlook illegal bars [1][2].
In a meeting with police officials, Parab inquired about the action taken against Yogesh Kadam. He also met with the chief minister to present evidence linking Yogesh Kadam to the illegal operation of a dance bar [1].
The Shiv Sena (UBT) is demanding the resignation of Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam, accusing him of flouting the law and failing to uphold law and order [1].
