Pink Daisy Rock Signature Acoustic Guitar Soars at Auction

Selling for over $100,000: Pink Daisy Rock acoustic guitar, autographed by Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, fetches higher price at auction.

Dive into the captivating world of music memorabilia as a distinctive pink Daisy Rock acoustic guitar signed by the charismatic duo, Taylor Swift, and Miley Cyrus, sets a new bar at Julien's Auctions.

The anticipated bidding range, estimating up to $96,000, was dwarfed as the guitar's final sale price exceeded six figures, fetching a whopping $104,000! Clearly, Swifties were united in their ardor for the one-of-a-kind piece.

This memorable guitar bore the signature of the two pop sensations, inscribed on February 7, 2009, the day previous to their much-anticipated duet performance of Swift's film, Fifteen, at the 51st Grammy Awards.

Remarkably, Swift played a different guitar on that illustrious night—a Taylor K65ce Koa 12-String—yet the allure of the Daisy Rock signature model proved irresistible to the enthusiastic bidders.

The evening's event was enriched by iconic collaborations such as Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl's harmonies on I Saw Her Standing There, and a touching tribute to Bo Diddley led by John Mayer, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Keith Urban.

At just 19 years old, Swift graced the stage that night, marking the beginning of her successful career and her eventual accolades, including the coveted Album of the Year award for her album, Fearless, the following year.

The guitar faced 22 bids, eclipsing its initial estimate of $6,000-$8,000, with the winning bid submitted during the auction on May 31. The guitar became the second most valuable item in Julien's latest Music Icons collection, just shy of Steven Tyler's Dream On grand piano, which sold for an impressive $130,000.

An intriguing array of notable electric guitars also found a home under the auction gavel. A Charvel Art Series guitar, famously played by Eddie Van Halen, doubled its estimate with a winning bid of $78,000, while another Van Halen axe, a Fender custom Frankenstein Stratocaster, sold for $45,500.

Significant items associated with Kurt Cobain also found their way onto the auction block, including a portion of a Melvins tour van, adorned with a mural by Cobain himself, which sold for $26,000. Despite heralding two of the most expensive guitars ever sold at auction, Kurt Cobain's 1989 Takamine acoustic guitar remained unsold after the reserve price wasn't met. Its estimated value ranged from $300,000-$500,000, with a starting bid of $75,000.

As for recent auction action, renowned filmmaker David Lynch's guitars have surfaced, and for those seeking an eccentric, eye-catching guitar, a custom-built five-necked guitar is now up for grabs.
