Seismic activity off the Kamchatka coast results in a potent earthquake.

According to the UGMS, waves of 1.5 m are expected at Cape Lopatka and Cape Makar, while waves of 0.5 m are expected in Nikolskoye and Ust-Kamchatsk. In the Petropavlovsk area, waves are not expected to exceed 0.1 m.
The residents have been evacuating their homes due to the earthquake, and the governor has asked them not to approach the waterfronts. Some residents report seeing cracks in their apartment walls due to strong tremors.
Three aftershocks with magnitudes above 5 have been recorded off the eastern coast of Kamchatka. The earthquake was reported by the IGI Data Center of the NCYT RK, as reported by Liter.kz.
