Headline: Kazakh Tourists Unfazed by Earthquake in Istanbul, Remain Vigilant

In Turkey, around 160 Kazakh tourists are holidaying, undeterred by the recent 6.2 magnitude earthquake, as per the KTK channel's report. Among them, Duman Kalmagambetov, a businessman, narrated his experiences during the seismic event.

"I was working when the earthquake struck," Duman recounted, describing the strong tremors that disrupted public transportation and communication networks. Panic ensued amidst the confusion, with everyone running onto the streets in a state of chaos. He soon contacted his wife, who assured him they were safe. After this, they learned their parents, scheduled to arrive, decided not to come due to the earthquake concerns.

Duman shared their ordeal about the non-refundable tickets for their parents' visit, leaving them unsure of their next steps. Despite the intimidating experience, they, like other Kazakh tourists in Istanbul as per the Touristic Qamqor fund, have no plans to cut their vacation short.

Tourists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution and keep their documents secure. Tour operators also emphasize the importance of travel insurance. Aigul Omarbaeva, head of a tour agency, stresses that tourists can seek help through their insurance policies if necessary.

The earthquake occurred near the Silivri district of Istanbul on the previous day. Turkish Interior Minister, Ali Yerliçay, verified the news. The event was broadcast live on Turkish media, and social media users shared footage of the aftermath in Istanbul.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, took swift actions following the disaster. President Erdoğan offered words of support to Turkish citizens, while Kurtulmuş underscored the need for earthquake preparedness in the country.

The Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported no appeals from Kazakh citizens in Turkey at the Kazakh Consulate General in Istanbul. Kazakhstan's President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, expresses solidarity with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan concerning the earthquake near Istanbul.

It's worth noting that, typically, both the Turkish and UK travel advisories suggest remaining vigilant and following local guidelines for travel safety in the aftermath of such events. It is also advisable for travelers to check their insurance policies for earthquake coverage and to contact their providers for any help or claims related to the earthquake.
