Seeking justice a month after tragic hit-and-run incident in Harris County leaves family mourning for their slain couple
In a tragic turn of events, a hit-and-run accident has claimed the lives of Krystal Calvillo and Daniel Perez in north Harris County. The incident occurred on July 1, 2025, leaving the victims' families and the community in shock.
Jeannett Alba, Calvillo's mother, expressed her disbelief, saying, "I can't believe someone would hit my daughter and her boyfriend and leave the scene without rendering help." She added, "A part of me is missing with my daughter gone."

Tragically, Calvillo went to help Perez and was struck by a second car—a dark-colored Subaru Outback from the 2015-2019 model years with visible damage. This driver, however, fled the scene.
