A Melancholic Tale Met with Unexpected Life-Changing Events: Walter Sittler in ARD Comedy

Seeking Love in ARD Comedy: Walter Sittler's Journey to Find Romance - Seeking death, discovering love:

Dive into the world of Walter Sittler, played by the talented German actor, in ARD Comedy's forthcoming production, "Death is no Solution Either," airing tonight at 8:15 PM on the First Channel.

Meet Hermann, a disgruntled widower and former librarian, who shared a heartbreaking tale with members of a book club around a crackling fireplace. As they sat and listened, he spoke of characters trapped in the depths of midnight. Hermann's bitter apathy for society's "general cultural decline" is palpable.

Unbeknownst to him, he is given a grim cancer diagnosis, which he refuses to address with treatment, citing his wife's 30-year-long battle with the same affliction and her ultimate demise. In the offbeat comedy "Death is no Solution Either," we follow Hermann on a journey that doesn't quite go as planned.

As he spirals deeper into isolation, he seeks assistance from euthanasia associations in Switzerland, but encounters dead ends. Even resorting to morphine pills offers little respite. Hermann finds it challenging to confront his family, estranged from them for years.

One day, a vibrant new woman named Hanne (portrayed by Andrea Sawatzki) joins the reading circle. Sporting fiery red hair and eccentric attire, Hanne intrigues Hermann with a book about a woman who has amassed wealth through her husbands' inheritances. He mistakenly believes she is the author, harboring a vague hope that the same fate might befall him.

Directed by Ingo Rasper, the story of rediscovering life unfolds delicately, peppered with sparkling dialogues, word images, and abundant apologies. The story evolves, culminating in a surprising dance evening. At its core, it's a tale of human connection, compassion, and the power of love.

Accompanied by soothing piano music, Walter Sittler's reserved and grumpy performance is a highlight, bringing a sense of authenticity to Hermann's wild hair and heavy-lidded eyes. As a man fully engrossed in his book world, he boasts of non-existent luxuries before finding love rather than succumbing to despair.

Andrea Sawatzki, known for her roles in "Family Bundschuh," delivers a refreshingly lively performance as Hanne, who navigates life with a vivacious energy, bursting forth in colorful clothing and an eye-catching mint green Citroën DS. Neither Hanne nor Hermann are the stereotypes their initial encounters might suggest. Underneath their idiosyncrasies, they are simply two people finding solace in each other's company.

Tune in to "Death is no Solution Either" to witness a beautiful exploration of life, love, and the unexpected turns it sometimes takes.

The Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, especially for the actors and crew working on the production of ARD Comedy's "Death is no Solution Either." Hermann, in one of his favorite movies-and-tv dialogues, once mentioned a character trapped in the depths of midnight, reflecting his emotional turmoil amidst his life-changing events. During one of Hanne's captivating discussions about her favorite book, she mentioned a woman who amassed wealth through her husbands' inheritances, reminiscent of the ionizing radiation's potential to alter the course of life. Through their unconventional bond, Hermann and Hanne engage in thoughtful dialogues about life, love, and the possibility of a new diagnosis, drawing parallels between various aspects of entertainment and their personal experiences.
