In a blunt podcast titled "Ukraine - the situation," security expert Christian Mölling expressed frustration with the limited weaponry available to Ukrainian soldiers, who are currently facing an adversary in Russia waging a brutal war with relentless ferocity. Mölling called for the provision of long-range weapons and protection equipment, like aircraft and missiles, to enable the Ukrainian troops to wage war from a distance, reducing the risk of casualties. He criticized the current refusal to supply these weapons while also admiring Ukraine's resilience and determination to continue the fight, despite the dire consequences of surrender.

Ukraine's military leadership is aiming to recruit 500,000 new soldiers, a move that would send a strong message to Russia and ensure their ability to sustain the war. Cautioning against underestimating the Ukrainians' resolve, Mölling emphasized that the decision to endure losses rests with them. He expressed confidence in Ukraine's capacity to withstand the war, but warned against its vulnerability to instability within leadership, particularly if Russia infiltrates those weak points.

While Mölling did not specify the exact types of weapons needed, experts suggest strategies such as increased military spending, enhanced defense capabilities, European nuclear deterrent component, intelligence gathering, and non-kinetic warfare as potential options. These strategies aim to protect Ukrainian soldiers, shift the nature of the conflict towards less deadly forms, and deter aggressive posturing from Russia. Ultimately, the international community must provide the necessary support to help Ukraine survive this ongoing conflict.
