Security distribution company FAST Security Distribution has been acquired by the SS&Si Dealer Network.
SS&Si Dealer Network, a leading player in the security distribution market, has announced the acquisition of FAST Security Distribution, marking a significant step in its expansion. This move not only broadens SS&Si's geographical reach but also reinforces its commitment to a customer-first approach.
With the addition of FAST's Hagerstown location, SS&Si's branch footprint now includes Deltona, Fla.; Huntsville, Ala.; Tulsa, Okla.; and Hagerstown. This expansion strategically positions SS&Si to provide 1-2 day ground shipping to over 80% of the U.S. population.
The acquisition continues SS&Si's trajectory of growth into new locations. According to Jake Voll, president of SS&Si, this move accelerates SS&Si's expansion into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Trey Alter, president of First Action Security Team, praised the fit between the two companies, stating that SS&Si is redefining excellence in distribution. He believes that dealers will now have access to more opportunities than they ever could have provided with FAST alone.
SS&Si differentiates itself from larger players and e-commerce giants in the security distribution market by focusing on channel-centric partnerships. It offers secure, compliance-driven product offerings, flexible deployment options, and personalized dealer support. Key elements of their strategy include adding advanced, NDAA- and TAA-compliant products to their portfolio.
Dealers can count on the same pricing and day-to-day support they're used to after the acquisition. Kevin Dunham will continue leading the Hagerstown branch. As part of the transaction, SS&Si has retained the FAST team to ensure a smooth transition and maintain existing dealer relationships.
Former FAST customers will gain access to new tools and services as part of the SS&Si network, including online ordering and bill pay, private labeling options, and a broader inventory backed by vendor programs.
FAST Security Distribution, founded in 1975, built its reputation by supporting independent alarm dealers across the country with reliable product access and personalized service. The acquisition brings together two independent distributors that have long shared a customer-first philosophy.
SS&Si aims to be the anti-Amazon, offering fast shipping but backed by real relationships, product expertise, and value-added services like private labeling. It is focused on standing apart from larger players and from e-commerce giants like Amazon, by prioritizing deep industry knowledge, customized support, compliance assurance, and high-touch service.
In the rapidly consolidating security distribution market, SS&Si is positioning itself as a trusted, channel-focused alternative, offering a national network of independently minded dealers supported by value-added distribution. This acquisition is a testament to SS&Si's commitment to creating a strong, localized dealer network that can compete effectively against larger distributors and e-commerce platforms.
SS&Si's expansion now includes a focus on the sports of business and growth, as the acquisition of FAST Security Distribution strategically positions them to provide unprecedented coverage to the security industry. With the addition of FAST's Hagerstown location, SS&Si is advancing onto the field, aiming to score goals with dealers nationwide by offering an enhanced range of tools and services, coupled with personalized dealer support.
