Unveiling the Surprise Birthday Bash for RWE Boss Franz Gerber
The town of Erfurt and the iconic Rot-Weiß had an elaborate secret up their sleeves!
Everyone in the know was privy to it; that is, everyone except the unsuspecting birthday boy – Franz Gerber himself!

As the clock struck 7 p.m., Gerber's son Fabian masterfully guided him towards the town hall. An assemblage of the entire team, coaching staff, club personnel, and Erfurt's city representatives waited in ambush! Fabian went on to reveal, "My father was actually planning a low-key celebration in Munich. My mother and I successfully convinced him to stay in Erfurt instead!"
But Franz Gerber was yet to realize the twists that awaited him at the town hall! Fabian continued, "We told him we had reserved a table at a restaurant, and there was a captivating art exhibition coming up at the town hall as well."
Unbeknownst to Franz Gerber, these were just well-crafted tales crafted to veil the real celebratory surprise.

The evening reached a peak as Erfurt's Lord Mayor, Andreas Bausewein, allowed Gerber to pen his name in the city's esteemed Golden Book, a privilege reserved for an exclusive club of influential personalities, among whom counted Pope Benedict – a fellow Bavarian.
In the face of this touching tribute, Gerber's emotions ran high. He exuded gratitude andpledged his commitment to lead Rot-Weiß Erfurt to even greater heights in the coming year.
Bausewein roared in praise of Gerber's accomplishments, "Your success story continues to soar! I have no doubts that you will lead Rot-Weiß Erfurt back to its former glory."
