The Southern Section of the draw has been finalised, featuring some enticing clashes. The fixture schedule has Wolves hosting West Ham at home during the week commencing August 25, 2025.

Other notable matches include Birmingham City taking on Sheffield United, with Birmingham currently leading 1-0. The tie between Barnsley and Fleetwood is also ongoing, with Barnsley holding a 1-0 advantage.

Sunderland will face Huddersfield in the second round, a match which was decided by a 3-2 penalty shootout victory for Huddersfield over Leicester. Sunderland's opponent in the next round could be either Huddersfield or Leicester, depending on the outcome of their ongoing tie.
