Seattle Mariners to unveil Ichiro Suzuki statue at T-Mobile Park in 2026 tribute

Ichiro Suzuki, one of the greatest players in Seattle Mariners history, is set to receive a statue in his honour during the 2026 season. The statue will be installed on the outfield concourse at T-Mobile Park, joining the statues of Dave Niehaus, Ken Griffey Jr., and Edgar Martinez.

The announcement was made by Mariners Chairman John Stanton in August 2025 during the ceremony that saw Ichiro's No. 51 jersey retired. The statue will depict Ichiro's iconic batting stance pose, and it will celebrate Ichiro’s international impact and leadership with the team.

Randy Johnson, another Mariners legend, will also be honoured with a ceremony to retire his No. 51 jersey, but no details regarding the date or location have been provided yet.

Meanwhile, the Mariners have labeled Josh Naylor as 'day to day' with left shoulder discomfort. In a recent game, the team managed to secure a victory over the Rays, with Cal Raleigh hitting a late home run to seal the win.

Pete Carroll, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, recently returned to Seattle. In a thrilling game, the Seahawks blocked a field goal to force a tie with the Raiders.
