Searching for two additional players, Moeser SC eyes reinforcements in the second German Bundesliga.
Revamped Take:
The Moerser Volleyball Squad bags two new recruits for the 2nd Bundesliga! Joining the ranks is 18-year-old Nico Haug, a promising setter hailing from Tübingen. He's previously played for TV Rottenburg's second team and wowed the team during trials. Despite concerns about his medical studies' location, the MSC is banking on Haug as a potential Bertea clone.
Nico's dad, Karsten Haug, is no stranger to volleyball. He was once a co-trainer for Rottenburg's Bundesliga squad and currently coaches in the youth ranks. Head Coach Hendrik Rieskamp is thrilled about the young talent's eagerness to learn and solid volleyball foundation.
Another addition is Maksym Vandzhura, a Ukrainian right-hander who played in the 2nd Volleyball League before war disruptions. Having trained with the team since January, Vandzhura has made a solid impression and is slated as a receiver/outside hitter. The MSC is on the hunt for an outside hitter or middle blocker to further boost the squad.
Despite departures such as Lukas Lübke, Timo Moysig, and setter Fredrik Schmidt, the team's spirit remains high. Jan Lenkeit, plagued by injuries last season, will step down but may still be a substitute player.
Preparations for the season are in full swing, with a test match against TB Osterfeld on August 18 and the season opener on August 29 against multiple Dutch champions Dynamo Apeldoorn. The team is also participating in a preparation tournament in August, possibly engaging with a Belgian first division team in September.
The MSC offers season tickets for 45 euros, offering a potential 11-game spectacle for interested fans. Let's hope the season brings many exciting matches and a lively atmosphere!
Nico Haug, the new recruit for the Moerser Volleyball Squad, possesses a solid volleyball foundation and is being compared to a potential Bertea clone, implying high expectations in sports.
