In a high-profile trial that garnered significant global attention, US Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution under the Mann Act, but was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The trial, which lasted for several weeks, took place in New York City in 2025.

Combs, who pleaded not guilty throughout the trial, faced serious sexual-related felony charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution purposes. The case involved multiple civil lawsuits and accusations spanning from 1990 up to 2024, including allegations of rape, sexual assault, drug-facilitated assault, and sexual trafficking.

During the trial, prosecutors depicted Combs as leading a criminal enterprise involving his employees to coerce women into drug-fueled sex acts with male escorts. The defense argued that these acts were consensual within a swingers' lifestyle.

Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, awaiting the scheduled announcement of his sentence on October 3. His lawyers had previously requested early release from prison, but the judge denied the request. The lawyers had also filed a motion for Combs' release last week, offering a bail package worth $50 million for house arrest.

The sentencing for Combs is expected to address complex issues around consent, coercion, and the intersection of personal conduct and criminal accountability in such cases. If convicted, Combs could face up to 10 years in prison on the prostitution-related counts.

This case remains high profile due to the severity of the allegations, the nature of the convicted charges, and the ongoing related civil litigation.
