Sean P. Diddy Combs continues to be detained in police custody.
Sean "Diddy" Combs, the renowned American rapper, is currently serving time in a New York prison following his guilty verdict on charges of transportation for the purposes of prostitution. The judge in New York recently denied his request for early release from prison, ordering him to remain incarcerated until his sentencing on October 3, 2025.
During the trial, which attracted worldwide attention due to its high-profile nature, Combs was accused by prosecutors of exploiting, threatening, and coercing women for years. Several women testified during the trial about years of severe sexual and physical abuse. However, Combs was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Despite arguments by Combs' lawyers that he posed no flight risk or danger to his surroundings, the judge ruled that he fails to meet the criteria for release. The decision was based on the seriousness of the offenses, which involved allegations that some victims were beaten, coerced, or threatened.
Combs' lawyers had offered a bail package of $50 million for house arrest, a request that was previously denied. The judge stated that corrections staff have kept Combs safe at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he is currently being held.
The focus of the remaining legal proceedings is now on sentencing, with no indication of upcoming trials or additional charges at this point. Sentencing will determine the length and type of punishment Combs will receive based on his conviction for Mann Act violations related to prostitution.
