The Broadcasters Foundation of America will present its prestigious Golden Mic Award to two distinguished individuals in 2025 – Mike McVay and Brian Lawlor.

Firstly, the 2025 Golden Mic Award recipient is Mike McVay. With over four decades of contributions to the media industry, McVay is a highly respected media strategist, programmer, talent coach, and leader in the radio industry. He is the president of McVay Media, a firm specializing in content creation, network and syndication programming, podcast development, digital content distribution, talent coaching, and media strategy. McVay's expertise, creative vision, and dedication have shaped numerous careers, inspired new broadcasters, and driven innovation in the audio industry. He will receive this award during the 2025 NAB Marconi Radio Awards at the NAB Show New York.

On the other hand, Brian Lawlor will also receive the Golden Mic Award for his significant contributions to broadcasting. Lawlor has been a staunch supporter of the Broadcasters Foundation and serves on their Board. He led the Scripps Local Media division for 14 years prior to becoming the president of Scripps Sports, where he has continued to make a mark. Under his leadership, the Scripps Local Media division expanded from 10 to 61 local TV stations, making Scripps one of the largest television groups in America. Lawlor was named one of the "80 Most Influential People in Television" and "Broadcast Television's Best Leader" by Radio Television Business Report. He was also named Broadcaster of the Year by B+C in 2011.

Lawlor's hard work in advancing the mission of the Broadcasters Foundation has been recognized. The Broadcasters Foundation provides aid to broadcasters in need due to illness or tragedy. Lawlor, being a supporter of the Foundation, has played a crucial role in its efforts. Scott Herman, BOFA chairman, considers Lawlor a leader in broadcasting and a perfect candidate for the Golden Mic Award. Tim McCarthy, president of the Broadcasters Foundation, considers Lawlor a highly respected member of the television broadcasting community.
