Scottie Scheffler Prepares for Tour Championship with Ted Scott as Caddie

Scottie Scheffler, the current world number one golfer, will be competing in the Tour Championship, starting Thursday. The American golfer has had a remarkable year, with four victories, including the WM Phoenix Open and the Masters. However, he has yet to win the Tour Championship.

Scheffler's caddie for the event will be Ted Scott, who returns after missing earlier playoff events due to a family matter. Scott has been a valuable asset to Scheffler's success, having worked together since the beginning of Scheffler's professional career.

One of the key factors in Scheffler's success is his consistency and intensity. He believes that playing with Tiger Woods, whom he was inspired by, taught him to bring the same intensity to each round and each shot. Woods, a 15-time major champion, has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the game of golf, and Scheffler is no exception.

Scheffler broke through as a professional golfer by winning the WM Phoenix Open in 2022, and within two months, he became a Masters champion and the number one golfer in the world. His impressive run continued, as he added the PGA Championship and British Open to his two previous Masters titles this year.

However, Scheffler's journey has not been without setbacks. Last year, at the Tour Championship, he lost a six-shot lead in the final round, despite winning his first Masters, rising to No. 1 in the world, and having four victories. The experience has undoubtedly made him more resilient and determined to claim the Tour Championship this year.

The Tour Championship format emphasizes winning the FedEx Cup, with the top 30 players starting from scratch for 72 holes. This means that despite Scheffler's current world ranking, he will be starting on equal footing with the other players.

Despite his success, Scheffler does not wish to be compared to Tiger Woods. Woods stands alone in golf, and Scheffler acknowledges the immense impact Woods has had on the game. Instead, Scheffler focuses on his own game and the consistency and intensity he brings to each round of golf.

As the Tour Championship approaches, Scheffler is in a strong position, having finished in the top 10 in 13 consecutive tournaments. With his caddie, Ted Scott, back on the bag, Scheffler is poised to make a strong run for the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup.
