The initial hours of Day 1b of the 2025 WSOP Event #1 have yielded an unprecedented response, with 102 entries already outpacing the final total for Day 1a, and more than half a day remaining for additional participants. The combined prize pool nears $190,000.

Notable recent additions to the roster include Joshua Myers, Jay Tran, Tony Comely, Mike Malm, Pav Braich, Jason Heang, and Bash Ramahi.

The top contenders in Day 1b, exhibiting impressive chip counts, are as follows:

  • Veerachai Vongxaiburana is currently leading Day 1b and the tournament overall, having transformed a 40,000 starting stack into a colossal 2,975,000 chips.
  • Jason Dewitt has accumulated an impressive 2,000,000 chips following Day 1b.
  • Xingyu Liu maintains a sizeable stack of 1,810,000 chips.
  • Didier Guerin, a key member of Team Australia in the $25k Fantasy Draft, boasts a substantial stack of 1,495,000 chips.
  • Samuel Bernabeu and Martin Zamani also advance with seven-figure chip counts, sporting 1,230,000 and 1,075,000 chips respectively.

Other noteworthy survivors include William Kopp (955,000 chips), Lok Chan (905,000), AP Garza (820,000), Evan Sandberg (620,000), George Wolff (540,000), Ray Henson (245,000), and reigning WSOP Main Event champion Jonathan Tamayo (200,000).

Day 1b brought a staggering turnout of 1,833 players, with only 85 remaining after Level 22.
