Scorching Summer Weekend Approaches, Bringing 30-Degree Heatwave

Warm weather is expected in various areas this Saturday, similar to summer. A temporary cold front will temporarily lower temperatures nationwide on Sunday. Followed by this, another heat wave is forecasted to commence.

Scorching Summer Weekend Approaches, Bringing 30-Degree Heatwave

The heat wave that has been gripping Germany is expected to peak towards the middle of next week, but relief is in sight as temperatures are set to drop significantly in the second half of the week.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), widespread peak temperatures between 30 and 35 degrees are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with local temperatures of up to 36 degrees in the south possible. However, a cold front is set to move in on Sunday, replacing the hot air with cooler marine air in many parts of the country.

On Sunday, peak temperatures in the south will be just above 30 degrees, while in the north, they won't reach 25 degrees. The night into Monday will be significantly cooler, with temperatures in some areas around 10 degrees. By Monday, the cold air will mostly disappear, and in the north, the maximum will be 23 to 26 degrees.

In the southwest on Monday, the thermometers will show over 30 degrees, even up to 34 degrees in the southern Upper Rhine region. Along the coast, temperatures on Saturday will be between 21 and 25 degrees. On Saturday, the south of Germany will have plenty of sunshine, while the rest of the country may have some clouds.

The risk of local heavy thunderstorms increases from the west as the heat reaches its peak. There will be a few harmless cloud fields in the north on Monday.

The predicted weather pattern for the second half of next week in Germany is expected to shift to near to slightly below normal temperatures with less intense heat. This suggests a relief from the current hot and dry conditions experienced during the heat wave earlier this week.

The change in weather is attributed to the weakening of atmospheric ridges and the dissipation of the heat wave. Reports from nearby regions indicate that after a period of unusually high temperatures, temperatures tend to return closer to normal or slightly below normal later in the week.

No indications from solar or geomagnetic activity sources suggest any influence that would notably alter weather patterns during this period. Therefore, after the heat wave phase early in the week, Germany can expect cooler and more moderate temperatures in the second half of next week, possibly accompanied by calmer, less dry conditions compared to the current heat-related fire risks noted.

The weather forecast for the weekend indicates that temperatures will start to drop, with Sunday's peak temperatures in the south anticipated to be just above 30 degrees and the north expected to stay below 25 degrees, marking the start of the cold front moving into Germany. In contrast, the predicted weather pattern for the second half of next week is expected to be near to slightly below normal temperatures, which is a sign of relief from the current heat wave that has been affecting Germany.
