SCL Tigers Langnau's slump deepens as goaltending woes sink the team

SCL Tigers Langnau is struggling after a string of poor results. The team has lost eight of its last nine matches, with weak performances in goal becoming a major issue. Both goalies, Robin Meyer and Luca Boltshauser, have failed to deliver since the Olympic break.

Langnau's problems in net have worsened this season. Last year, Stéphane Charlin posted a 94.59% save rate, helping the team stay competitive. This season, Meyer and Boltshauser have dropped below 92%, leaving the defence exposed.

The team's scoring has also dipped at critical moments. In a recent loss to Fribourg-Gottéron, Langnau managed just one power-play goal despite 16 minutes of advantage. Their forwards have struggled to convert chances, even though they've scored slightly more this season (139 goals) than last (133).

The last two games highlighted the issue. Poor performances from Meyer and Boltshauser led to defeats against SCRJ Lakers and Fribourg-Gottéron. Since the Olympic break, their save percentages have stayed under 93%, failing to bail the team out when needed.

Langnau's slide continues, with weak goaltending and inconsistent scoring costing them games. The team has allowed more goals this season (140) than last (126), making it harder to recover. Without improvements in net, their struggles are likely to persist.
