Volleyball Champions SSC Advance to Next Round After Victory - Schwerin crushes Planegg 3–0 to reach German Cup quarterfinals
SSC Palmberg Schwerin, the reigning champions, have stormed into the German Cup quarterfinals after a dominant 3–0 victory over TV Planegg-Krailling. The win comes despite a late scare in the champions league of the third set.
The match began with a closely fought first set. Schwerin, playing at home, took an early lead at 13–6. However, Planegg, a second-tier promotion side, showed resilience and narrowed the gap to 19–21 before the champion eventually sealed the set 25–23.
Schwerin then dominated the second set, winning it 25–17. The third set, however, saw a late comeback from Planegg. After leading comfortably at 20–14, Schwerin had to dig deep to secure the set and the match 25–23, 25–17, 25–23.
The victory sees SSC Palmberg Schwerin progress to the DVV-Pokal quarterfinals, where they will face tougher opposition. Despite the late scare, the reigning champions league showed their mettle and lived up to their billing.
