Imagine billionaire's sons dealing with mockery in school. Sounds unfathomable? Well, the story of Anant Ambani, Mukesh Ambani's youngest son, is a stark reminder that riches don't always equate to an insulated life. Anant Ambani, born into opulence, wasn't immune to the taunts of his peers.

Mukesh and Nita Ambani, devoted parents, raised their children — Akash, Isha, and Anant — with a solid understanding of financial responsibility, despite their influential and prosperous status. Contrary to popular belief, Ambani's children didn't revel in lavish allowances.

In a past interview, Nita Ambani confessed that she was/is stringent with her kids' pocket money. In the same interview, she reminisced about Anant's school days, when his peers laughed at him for his modest pocket change, calling him 'bhikari' — a Hindi term for beggar or mendicant. "When my kids were young, I'd give them INR 5 each every Friday to spend in the school canteen. One day, my youngest, Anant, barged into my room, pleading he needed INR 10 instead. When I questioned him, he said his friends snickered every time they saw him pull out a 5-rupee coin, shouting, 'Is Ambani hai ya bhikari!'" she had revealed.

Confronted with their son's predicament, Mukesh and Nita couldn't help but chuckle. "Mukesh and I could barely contain our laughter," Nita revealed. Fast forward to the present, Anant, once mocked as 'bhikari,' is a powerhouse in the Reliance empire. Having inherited his father's prosperous empire, he leads its green energy operations. He is also the director of Jio Platforms and the owner of the Mumbai Indians cricket team, contributing significantly to his reported net worth of INR 3,32,482 crores.
