Schmigadoon! Hits Broadway This April
Schmigadoon!, the hit Apple TV+ series, is set to take the Broadway stage this April. The musical, which parodies classic Broadway shows, promises a talented chorus of Broadway veterans and original songs from the TV series.
The stage production, produced by Lorne Michaels, will preview from April 4 and open on April 20, running until September 6. While the cast for the Broadway roles of Melissa and Josh has not yet been announced, fans of the Kennedy Center production will recognize Sara Chase and Alex Brightman, who played these roles there. The musical will feature new numbers alongside original songs from the TV series, all with music and book by Cinco Paul. Despite being canceled by Apple TV+ after two seasons (Schmicago!), Paul hopes to bring all three seasons to the stage in the future. Audience members can expect every character, from the reverend to the schoolteacher, to burst into song throughout the performance.
Schmigadoon! on Broadway promises a nostalgic journey through the Golden Age of movie musicals, with a talented cast and original music. While the Broadway cast is yet to be announced, fans of the TV series and Broadway enthusiasts alike can look forward to an entertaining experience.
