Gearing Up for a Greener 2026 F1 Season: A New Era of Racing Calendars and Teams
Scheduled F1 Races in 2026: Introducing a Fresh European Grand Prix by a Novel Team
Get ready for a revolution in the Formula 1 scene as we embark on the 2026 season! With a strong focus on sustainability, the racing calendar undergoes significant transformations, welcoming new destinations and teams. Buckle up, folks!
The thrilling journey begins at none other than the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia on March 8, followed by Shanghai and Suzuka. The season initially bypasses Bahrain in April due to the observance of Ramadan, traditionally starting the season in Australia!
Post the Australian, Chinese, and Japanese races, we head back to the Gulf, with Bahrain (April 12) and Saudi Arabia (April 19) in line. Keep in mind, Ramadan is expected to fall between February 16 and March 18 the following year.
Prepare for a major shakeup in grand prix motorsport towards sustainability. Among the alterations, the cars will be powered by 100% CO2-neutral fuel.
Fresh Destinations on the Horizon
Fasten your seatbelts, because Madrid will be the next stop on our global adventure! This Spanish capital will host an electrifying street race at the exhibition grounds on September 13. Our beloved Spain will therefore boast two races: one in Barcelona in mid-June.
Germany: Sadly, Out for 2026
Joining the exclusive city circuit is a fresh 11th team: Cadillac's entry was secured before the season commenced. Initially, they will get engines from none other than Ferrari, but beginning in 2029, they will rely on engines from Cadillac's parent company, General Motors. Intriguingly, Formula 1 initially rejected Michael Andretti's ambitious project but managed to reach an agreement with the FIA and General Motors.
Shaking Things Up in Europe
The European season opener won't be graced by the Italian classic Imola race; instead, we'll head to Monte Carlo for the first European race, shifting from its traditional end of May slot to June. Though Audi will officially grace us with their presence, Germany will be absent from the churning wheels of the calendar.
The grand finale, unfolding after the European block and an overseas jaunt, will once again be held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on December 6. This marks the end of the grueling triple-header in Austin/USA (October 25), Mexico (November 1), and Brazil (November 8), with a brief respite before the whirlwind of Las Vegas/USA (November 21), Qatar (November 29), and Abu Dhabi (December 6).
So, fasten your seatbelts, army of petrol heads! The 2026 F1 season will be a rollercoaster ride, with new additions, removals, and unmatched focus on sustainability. Don't miss a beat!
