Scheduled events in Schermbeck on Wednesday: Two planned operations
On Wednesday, the Schermbeck fire department was kept busy responding to two incidents involving storm-related hazards.
The first incident occurred early in the morning at Waldaustraße, where a fallen tree blocked the road. The Gahlen fire crew was called to the scene under the call sign "Storm Damage" at around 3:08 AM. Using a chainsaw, they successfully removed the tree from the road, ensuring the safety of the area.
The second incident took place at 12:53 PM on Lippeweg, where a branch was threatening to fall onto the road. In response, the Altschermbeck fire crew and the turntable ladder of the Schermbeck fire station were dispatched under the same call sign. However, due to a technical fault, the Schermbeck turntable ladder was unavailable. To handle this incident, a turntable ladder from the Dorsten fire department was requested. Using the requested equipment, the branch was safely cut up and removed.
Both incidents were concluded promptly, with the first incident at Waldaustraße being resolved by 3:37 AM, and the incident at Lippeweg ending at 2:05 PM.
