Scheduled Comedy Shows for 2024 Revealed
Right on, buddy! If you're up for a roaring good time, you better buckle up 'cause The Dresden Comedy is back with a madcap new season full of laughter that'll tickle your funny bone!
With six fiery premieres at the house and two open-air premieres at Elbschloss Übigau, the lineup includes 12 riveting revivals, making this comedy season an unmissable event starting in January.
First up is the dating comedy MATCH ME IF YOU CAN (premiering on January 19). It's a hilarious exploration of love in a digital world, proving that laughter is the best guide when lost in the chaos of online dating.
Springtime brings a literary double feature of successful authors Sebastian Fitzek and Karsten Dusse. Two bestselling novels take the stage to tackle seemingly sensitive subjects with a pinch of pitch-black humor. ACHTSAM MORDEN (premiering on April 12) seamlessly blends mindfulness with a head-spinning crime plot, addressing the unspoken corners of our mind.
In May, Germany's most successful thriller author Fitzek swaps genres for the road-trip comedy DER ERSTE LETZTE TAG (premiering on May 3). The story follows two strangers embarking on an experiment, delving into profound subjects with doses of courage and humor: What if today were our last day?
On September 13, the thrilling premiere DER RAUB DER SABINERINNEN kicks off the fall season. The Tom Pauls production with Zwingertrio colleagues brings a Dresden musical sequel: KÖNIGS SCHENKEN NACH (premiering on November 1).
Two law enforcers sharing their last shift before Christmas serve as the inspiration for the final premiere, FROHES FEST (premiering on November 22). It's a pitch-black British comedy by Anthony Neilson that promises to light up the stage.
As for the open-air season, the COMEDY IM SCHLOSS enters its 6th season, starting with triple female power. The Broadway musical NATÜRLICH BLOND opens the season on May 31, followed by a divine 2nd new production on August 9, where a fake nun, reminiscent of Whoopi Goldberg, will groove to world-famous gospel hits in SISTER SOUL.
