The Major League Soccer (MLS) season is set to kick off on February 25, 2023, with a jam-packed schedule that promises thrilling matches, debuts, and cup competitions. Here's a rundown of what fans can expect.

The newcomer in the MLS landscape is St. Louis CITY SC, who will make their debut on the same opening day, squaring off against Austin FC. St. Louis will then make their home debut on March 4, 2023, at CITYPARK against Charlotte FC.

The 2023 season will feature a rematch of the 2022 MLS Cup, as the Philadelphia Union and LAFC will face off once again on September 23. The opening day action will also include an El Tráfico match between LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Football Club at the historic Rose Bowl.

The majority of games will be played on Saturdays and select Wednesdays, with 7:30 p.m. local start times. Some MLS and Leagues Cup matches, including some of the biggest playoff matchups, will be available at no additional cost to Apple TV+ subscribers.

Select matches will also be available on FOX networks in the US, and on TSN and RDS in Canada. For those seeking an all-encompassing streaming experience, MLS Season Pass, an unprecedented streaming service, will launch on February 1, 2023, and will air every MLS match, Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs, and Leagues Cup.

The 2023 MLS season schedule construction varies between conferences. The Eastern Conference will play 28 intraconference games and 6 cross-conference games, while the Western Conference will play 26 intraconference games, 1-2 additional intraconference games, and 6-7 cross-conference games.

Rivalry Week will take place from May 13-20, featuring several intense rivalry matchups. The season will culminate on MLS Decision Day 2023, which will take place on October 21, with all teams playing intraconference opponents.

The MLS clubs participating in the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup included Los Angeles FC. The tournament, which began on June 16, 2025, in the United States, featured an expanded format with 32 teams and matches held across multiple U.S. cities, with the final on July 13, 2025.

The 2023 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target will be held at Audi Field on July 19, with the opponent to be announced at a later date. Leagues Cup 2023, a Concacaf-sanctioned tournament, will feature all 47 MLS and Liga MX clubs and will pause the MLS regular season from July 15 to August 20.

Every MLS match will be available on billions of devices through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and the web at tv.our website. With the addition of St. Louis CITY SC, Nashville SC will rejoin the Eastern Conference.
