Schalke player, Seguin, completes transfer to Hertha - Schalke's player, Seguin, transfers to Hertha Berlin

Say goodbye to midfield maestro Paul Seguin, as he bids adieu to league rivals FC Schalke 04 and switches gears to join Hertha BSC in the capital city of Berlin. The 30-year-old powerhouse has inked a cool deal, running from now until June 30, 2027. With this move, Seguin becomes the fourth newcomer for Hertha this summer, following Sebastian Grönning, Leon Jensen, and Niklas Kolbe.

Benjamin Weber, Hertha's sporting director, couldn't contain his excitement about snagging the creative midfielder: "Paul brings ball control, exceptional passing accuracy, a high level of football intellect, and buckets of experience from the 2. Bundesliga. He undoubtedly increases our team's strength, so we're chuffed to have him aboard!"

Stefan Leitl – Hertha's head honcho who once nurtured Seguin's talent during their time together at SpVgg Greuther Fürth – will finally get his wish player, as the duo pair up once more with their shared ambition to secure promotion. Hertha had to fork over a reasonably-priced transfer fee to acquire Seguin, given he still had a year left on his contract with Schalke.

The 2025 summer transfer sees Seguin, the son of the legendary former DDR national player Wolfgang Seguin, joining forces with his new team. Seguin, after a 25-game stint in the previous season, scoring two goals, boasts a rich history. His appearances include a year with VfL Wolfsburg in the 2018/2019 season, and half a year with Union Berlin for the 2022/2023 season. Between January 1, 2019, and June 2022, Seguin laced up his boots for Fürth.

What's the Scoop Behind the Transfer? 🤫

Seguin initially linked up with Schalke in 2023 for an estimated €750,000, having transferred over from Union Berlin.
