In an upcoming twist for fans of the Jurassic World franchise, three notable deleted scenes from the highly anticipated film, Jurassic World Rebirth, will be unveiled with the home release of the movie.

Director Gareth Edwards, who aimed to keep the film under two hours, made the decision to remove these scenes to streamline the narrative and maintain the iconic characters and pacing. The cuts were primarily due to studio feedback and the desire to avoid redundancy with earlier franchise entries.

One of the deleted scenes involved a climactic battle between the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Deinosuchus (D-Rex). This final fight, which was planned to end with the T-Rex being killed, was cut as it closely resembled sequences from the original Jurassic Park. The studio's note to remove the scene was justified, according to Edwards, as it aimed to preserve the T-Rex's legacy in the franchise for future films.

Another deleted scene featured significant appearances and fights involving the Spinosaurus. Fans and analysts have expressed disappointment at losing these scenes, as they could have expanded the storyline around this dinosaur and added more action.

The original opening of Jurassic World Rebirth was also cut. It was intended to depict InGen’s initial establishment on Saint-Hubert island, including the D-Rex attack that caused InGen to abandon the site. However, this was removed because it felt repetitive, with similar sequences appearing in the original Jurassic Park. Instead, the film begins more directly with the laboratory mishaps that set the story in motion.

Despite these cuts, Edwards expressed a preference for a deleted scene that took place at the front of a gas station, enhancing the sense of being hunted. This scene, where characters stopped, was a point of contention for Edwards, who believed it added to the tension. However, the removal of the scene improved the overall flow of the film.

Interestingly, the new Jurassic film was an exception to the norm where filmmakers of big, famous movies typically seek "final cut" to preserve their vision. In this case, the studio requested that five minutes cut from the film be added back, resulting in the film being longer than initially intended.

Jurassic World Rebirth, which started shooting in June 2024 and finished in October 2024, is set to be released in theaters on July 2. Fans noted the absence of these scenes, particularly the T-Rex fight and Spinosaurus moments, as a loss to the film’s potential excitement and depth. Now, with the home release, they will have the opportunity to experience these deleted scenes for themselves.

Fans eagerly awaiting the home release of Jurassic World Rebirth will find three deleted scenes that were originally removed due to studio feedback and streamlining of the narrative. These include the climactic battle between the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Deinosuchus, which was cut because of its similarity to Jurassic Park sequences, and the significant appearances and fights involving the Spinosaurus, which could have expanded the storyline. Additionally, the original opening depicting InGen’s initial establishment on Saint-Hubert island was also removed. Now, entertainment portals like io9 and Gizmodo have announced that these deleted scenes will appear in movies-and-tv discussions, offering fans a glimpse into the future of the Jurassic World franchise.
