Scavenger hunt opportunity in New York City, based on 'Hamilton' theme, awards winners with tickets to the Tony Award-winning musical
From August 4 to August 24, 2025, New York City is inviting Hamilton fans to embark on a thrilling adventure with the Hamilton-themed scavenger hunt 15. This exciting event is part of the city's celebration of the Tony Award-winning musical's tenth anniversary and is organised in partnership with New York City Tourism + Conventions under the Founded by NYC initiative 15.
To participate, download the HamApp, which will uncover 12 special locations across New York City related to Hamilton 15. Explore the city to find at least three of these locations. At each stop, open the HamApp to unlock and use an exclusive camera filter (called #HamCam) tagged with the location's name to take photos 14. Share your photos on Instagram, Twitter/X, or Facebook using the hashtag #HamiltonNYC to qualify 15.
Locations and additional clues are also shared via the official Hamilton and NYC Tourism + Conventions social media channels 1. The contest runs daily from 10:00 AM ET on August 4 to 11:59 PM ET on August 24, 2025 1. Winners will be selected and announced on August 11, August 18, and August 25, with three winners in total receiving a pair of tickets each for Hamilton performances scheduled in January to March 2026 15. Tickets cover performances in early 2026, January through March, with some blackout dates possible 1.
In addition to the scavenger hunt, a new Hamilton-themed walking tour of relevant NYC landmarks is available for fans wanting a deeper historical context 4. This is an exciting way to explore NYC’s landmark sites connected to Alexander Hamilton’s story while competing for tickets to the hit Broadway show 15.
Photos shared on Instagram, Twitter/X, or Facebook with the hashtag #HamiltonNYC are eligible for the contest. Participants have a chance to win tickets to see "Hamilton" on Broadway. The winners will receive a pair of tickets to "Hamilton" on Broadway for performances in January - March 2026. The camera filter tags each photo with the location's name. The scavenger hunt is part of Founded by NYC. Follow @HamiltonMusical and @nyctourism on social media for more information. Winner announcements will take place on Aug. 11, Aug. 18, and Aug. 25. In the app, you'll uncover 12 special places across New York City. Participants can unlock an exclusive camera filter in the HamApp for each location found. The scavenger hunt will be available until Aug. 24. To qualify, you must visit and post photos from at least three different locations. Three winners will be selected over the course of the contest period.
