Scary Movie sequel welcomes back actresses Anna Faris and Regina Hall for the sixth installment
The horror comedy series, Scary Movie, is set to return to the big screen with its sixth installment, scheduled for release on June 12, 2026. The main cast members include Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall.
Anna Faris and Regina Hall will reprise their original roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, respectively, while Marlon and Shawn Wayans return as part of the cast, and Dave Sheridan is confirmed to return as Officer Doofy. The director of the film is Michael Tiddes, and the Wayans brothers are involved in writing and producing alongside Rick Alvarez.
Keenen Ivory Wayans, who directed the original Scary Movie in 2000, is also expected to return in some capacity, possibly acting or producing. However, the Ghostface character, a staple of the series, may be portrayed by a different actor than in previous installments.
Interestingly, the Wayans brothers were not involved in the production of the third and fourth installments of Scary Movie, which were directed by David Zucker. Anna Faris and Regina Hall starred in the third and fourth installments but not in Scary Movie 5, which was not produced by the Wayans brothers either.
Despite their absence, Marlon Wayans announced the duo's return on Instagram, expressing his excitement to return to the series. Shawn and Marlon Wayans co-wrote the script and starred in the original Scary Movie in 2000, and they also returned for Scary Movie 2 in 2001.
Scary Movie 6 is shaping up to be a reboot with connections to the original films through the return of these key cast and creative members. The series, a popular horror parody, is sure to bring laughter and scares when it hits theaters in 2026.
