Scanbox Entertainment Joins DEG Nordic Board, Strengthening Home Entertainment Industry
Scanbox Entertainment has joined the ranks of major studios like NBCUniversal, Paramount Pictures, and Sony Pictures Entertainment as a member of the DEG Nordic board. This move strengthens the community of distributors and partners in the home entertainment industry across the four Nordic markets.
Founded in 2000, Scanbox Entertainment is a Danish film distribution company that has made a name for itself by acquiring distribution rights and partnering with local cinemas and retailers. Primarily focusing on independent and genre films, the company has established a strong presence in the Nordic market.
Jesper Dahlgaard, Nordic Director of Digital Sales at Nordisk Film and Chair of DEGN, welcomed Scanbox Entertainment to the board. He praised their significant contribution to advancing the shared mission of growing home entertainment in the Nordic region. Liz Bales, Chief Executive at DEGI, also expressed excitement about Scanbox Entertainment's membership, highlighting the value of their local market expertise and commercial insight.
Scanbox Entertainment's CCO, Torben Thorup Jørgensen, stated that joining DEG Nordic aligns with their goals and will provide access to valuable data and knowledge to better face industry challenges. As an independent film company releasing titles across theatrical and home entertainment, Scanbox Entertainment's membership is expected to bring fresh perspectives and strengthen the DEG Nordic community.
