Saxony-Anhalt experienced dramatic weather shifts this autumn, with temperatures swinging from extreme heat to freezing cold. The season also brought above-average sunshine and rainfall, making it one of the more unpredictable periods in recent years.
The autumn began with a record-breaking high of 32.6°C in Pabstorf, Harz district, on September 20. This marked the warmest day of the season, far above typical autumn temperatures. By late November, however, the region experienced a sharp contrast, with Oberharz am Brocken-Stiege plunging to -12.6°C on November 21.
