Mild Fall in Saxony-Anhalt - Saxony-Anhalt’s wild autumn swings from scorching heat to icy extremes

Saxony-Anhalt experienced dramatic weather shifts this autumn, with temperatures swinging from extreme heat to freezing cold. The season also brought above-average sunshine and rainfall, making it one of the more unpredictable periods in recent years.

The autumn began with a record-breaking high of 32.6°C in Pabstorf, Harz district, on September 20. This marked the warmest day of the season, far above typical autumn temperatures. By late November, however, the region experienced a sharp contrast, with Oberharz am Brocken-Stiege plunging to -12.6°C on November 21.

The autumn of 2025 in Saxony-Anhalt will be remembered for its sharp temperature swings and abundant sunshine. With records set for both heat and cold, the season highlighted the region’s increasingly variable climate patterns.
