Saxony and Ore Mountains Braced for Stormy Friday

Residents of Saxony and the Ore Mountains should brace for challenging weather conditions on Friday. Strong gusts and rain are forecast, with temperature fluctuations throughout the day.

The day will begin with a cloudy morning and rain across Saxony. Temperatures are expected to reach highs of 15 to 18°C (59–64°F), dropping to 10–14°C (50–57°F) in mountainous areas. Showers and gusty winds are predicted to persist throughout the day.

The Ore Mountains are likely to experience particularly strong gusts, with winds reaching up to 50 to 60 km/h. This includes storm warnings for cities and municipalities in the Erzgebirgskreis and Nordsachsen regions. Places like Delitzsch, Eilenburg, and Oschatz in Nordsachsen, along with multiple communities in the Ore Mountains, are expected to be most affected. Temperatures will fall overnight, reaching lows of 7 to 11°C (45–52°F), and even lower in the highlands.

While winds are expected to ease overnight, they will pick up again by Friday morning. Residents are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions. The weather is predicted to improve over the weekend.
