Sauercrowd's WoW Classic Raids Kick Off With NFL Draft-Style Twist
The Sauercrowd raids for World of Warcraft Classic are set to take place this weekend. Two separate events will challenge the Molten Core, with the first raid kicking off on Sunday. An NFL draft-style event, held earlier this week, determined the participants for the second run—but not all original sign-ups will take part.
The first Sauercrowd raid begins on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Teams are still being adjusted to ensure the best buff placements before the event starts.
A second raid follows on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 6:00 PM. The roster for this run was chosen through a lottery system during an NFL draft 2025-style event on February 19, 2026. Unlike the first group, this one has fewer warlocks—just two instead of four—and may also have fewer healers.
Two players initially expected to join either raid have since dropped out. The exact number of cancellations or no-shows from the original sign-ups remains unknown. Despite this, the second raid appears well-positioned to push deep into Molten Core, blending experienced veterans with newer players.
The NFL draft-style event, where participants were selected, can still be viewed on YouTube.
Both raids will proceed with adjusted line-ups, focusing on balance and strategy. The second group, in particular, aims for a strong performance despite having fewer warlocks and healers. Organisers continue refining team compositions ahead of the scheduled start times.
