Saudi football club AL-Hilal has ended its cooperation with coach Jesus.

Al-Hilal bids adieu to Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, announcing the split on a Friday statement.

The decision comes hot on the heels of Al-Hilal's elimination from the Asian Champions League Elite semi-finals after a 3-1 defeat against Al-Ahli. With only five games left in the Pro League, Al-Hilal currently sits second in the table, six points behind leaders Al-Ittihad. Upcoming in their schedule is the new-look Club World Cup in the USA, scheduled for June-July.

In a statement, the Board of Directors of Al-Hilal Club Company announced, "We've decided to part ways with Portuguese head coach Jorge Jesus." The club also stated their intention to appoint Mohammed Al-Shalhoub as the interim head coach.

Mohammed Al-Shalhoub is a familiar face in Saudi Arabian football. Known for his stint as a midfielder for Al-Hilal and the Saudi Arabian national team, Al-Shalhoub transitioned into coaching after hanging up his boots. Before taking over the reins from Jorge Jesus, he served as the assistant coach for Al-Hilal.

In his new role as interim head coach, Al-Shalhoub will be steering the team in the short term while the club negotiates with potential permanent replacements. Big names like Carlo Ancelotti have been floated in connection with the job[4]. The winning coach will take over the first team from Al-Shalhoub during this transitional phase.

Al-Hilal has terminated the contract of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus following their elimination from the Asian Champions League Elite semi-finals. In the meantime, Mohammed Al-Shalhoub, a former Al-Hilal player and assistant coach, has been named as the interim head coach for the team. Al-Shalhoub will be managing the team in the Pro League and the upcoming Club World Cup in the USA during the transitional phase. Potential permanent replacements for Al-Shalhoub, such as Carlo Ancelotti, are currently being negotiated for a future position in the European leagues.

Al-Hilal Saudi Pro League team dismissed Jorge Jesus as their coach, according to Friday's announcement. The decision follows Al-Hilal's recent elimination from the Asian Champions League Elite semi-finals after suffering a 3-1 loss to Al-Ahli.
